{"id":3714,"date":"2013-09-26T07:35:17","date_gmt":"2013-09-26T12:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/?p=3714"},"modified":"2013-09-26T07:35:17","modified_gmt":"2013-09-26T12:35:17","slug":"capitol-observations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/?p=3714","title":{"rendered":"Capitol observations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had the opportunity to go to the state capitol building today, and after accomplishing my errands I took a quick zip to the top observation floor and also down to the Memorial Hall.\u00a0 Here are a couple of things I noted:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/images\/capitol_elevator_31000.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3713\" alt=\"capitol_elevator_31000.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/images\/capitol_elevator_31000.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>Among the depictions in the brass on the elevator doors is a depiction of a more hostile time.\u00a0 It&#8217;s interesting to look at the brass in the elevator areas as well as the revolving doors in the Memorial Hall and note some of the figures depicted thereon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/images\/2013\/09\/capitol_mall_iphone_1174.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3713\" alt=\"capitol_mall_iphone_1174\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/images\/2013\/09\/capitol_mall_iphone_1174.jpg\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2013\/09\/capitol_mall_iphone_1174.jpg 333w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2013\/09\/capitol_mall_iphone_1174-99x150.jpg 99w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2013\/09\/capitol_mall_iphone_1174-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/a>Uh-oh.\u00a0 Notice that patch of yellow?\u00a0 The leaves are changing, and they&#8217;re going to do so quickly.\u00a0 Get those cameras ready!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/images\/2013\/09\/memorial_hall_pano_iphone_1180.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3711\" alt=\"memorial_hall_pano_iphone_1180\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/images\/2013\/09\/memorial_hall_pano_iphone_1180-500x112.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2013\/09\/memorial_hall_pano_iphone_1180-500x112.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2013\/09\/memorial_hall_pano_iphone_1180-150x33.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2013\/09\/memorial_hall_pano_iphone_1180-1024x230.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2013\/09\/memorial_hall_pano_iphone_1180.jpg 1478w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>I used the iPhone&#8217;s panoramic feature to do a quick pan of the Memorial Hall.\u00a0 Click on this image for a larger version.\u00a0 This is a great feature that came out with the iPhone 5 and iOS 6.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not about to upgrade to iOS 7 unless I absolutely have to.<\/p>\n<p>I used to run around the capitol with my little guys a lot, but it&#8217;s been quite some time since we&#8217;ve been able to do so.\u00a0 I enjoy it as much as they do, and I suspect that there are many who share the same fondness and memories about this historic building.\u00a0 When&#8217;s the last time you paid it a visit?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had the opportunity to go to the state capitol building today, and after accomplishing my errands I took a quick zip to the top observation floor and also down to the Memorial Hall.\u00a0 Here are a couple of things &hellip;
