{"id":6140,"date":"2018-08-25T16:23:13","date_gmt":"2018-08-25T21:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/?p=6140"},"modified":"2018-08-25T16:23:13","modified_gmt":"2018-08-25T21:23:13","slug":"got-it-before-its-gone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/?p=6140","title":{"rendered":"Got it before it&#8217;s gone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_12221.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-6138\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_12221-333x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_12221.jpg 333w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_12221-100x150.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_12221-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/a>I first noticed this windmill along, long time ago.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve never gotten a close look at it, though, because there have always been cattle on the land where it sits.\u00a0 Among the rules I have for my photo hobby are tenets like obeyance of No Trespassing signs, not entering old structures (out of safety and respect), and avoidance of disturbing livestock at all costs.\u00a0 So I&#8217;d always just continue on down the road.<\/p>\n<p>This particular windmill is being encroached upon from all sides as new neighborhoods continue to be developed in every direction.\u00a0 They&#8217;re awfully close at this point, which leads me to believe that at some point this windmill will disappear just as some of my other favorites have.\u00a0 Thankfully, after an evening of playing with the kiddos (and every water snake and frog they could catch and collect) at the lake nearby, I was able to get a closer look without causing a disruption.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_dji_0054-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-6139\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_dji_0054-5-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_dji_0054-5.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_dji_0054-5-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2018\/08\/cty140_windmill_dji_0054-5-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>Even now, this is pretty much the only angle available, unless one wants a highway or someone else&#8217;s backyard.\u00a0 It was sufficient.\u00a0 I got a little bit of a sunset, although I had to push the colors a bit.\u00a0 Those darn horizon clouds always snatch the sunset away early!\u00a0 As you can see, the head of this windmill has seen far better days.\u00a0 Regardless of its physical condition, however, I think it&#8217;s inevitable that it&#8217;ll be gone in the not-so-distant future.\u00a0 Unless the cows or their owner say otherwise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I first noticed this windmill along, long time ago.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve never gotten a close look at it, though, because there have always been cattle on the land where it sits.\u00a0 Among the rules I have for my photo hobby are &hellip;
