Unfortunately, it wasn&#8217;t really what I had in mind.  In fact, once I got there it was hard to find it even though I knew it was there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0246-50.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6397\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0246-50.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0246-50-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0246-50-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The road to the church was even gone, so if it wasn&#8217;t for the fact that I&#8217;d marked a GPS waypoint I would have been totally lost.  So I took to the skies and located it that way.  It had been laid completely flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0251-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0251-5.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0251-5-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2019\/09\/church_dji_0251-5-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Granted, it&#8217;s still pretty photogenic in this state&#8230;but it&#8217;s sad to see a church permanently gone like this.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a lot of other sites I&#8217;ve actually photographed which are no longer there, reinforcing the notion that it&#8217;s important to get out and capture these things while we still can.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wanted to find the old church in the ghost town of Bentley, North Dakota this summer, and I found it.
