It&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nws.noaa.gov\/glossary\/index.php?letter=p\" target=\"_blank\">parhelion<\/a>, or sundog. It&#8217;s formed by rays of light refracting through ice crystals, just like they do with water droplets to form a rainbow.<\/p>\n<p>I saw this as a bunch of low clouds rolled past.
