This is sad, because the brick is not only part of this house&#8217;s history, but integral to this history of Sims itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13297-9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7828\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13297-9.png 333w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13297-9-100x150.png 100w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13297-9-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Since it wasn&#8217;t apparent in the last photo, I thought I&#8217;d give you a better look. Photogenic now, certainly remarkable when it eventually peels loose all the way. Looking at the house from the southwest, it&#8217;s hard to tell that the brick exterior of the house even existed without looking closely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13421.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7812\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13421.png 500w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13421-150x100.png 150w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13421-450x300.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>If you look around the house, however, the evidence is there.  The brick from this house has pulverized all around its foundation over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"334\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13409-11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7837\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13409-11.png 334w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13409-11-100x150.png 100w, https:\/\/www.bismarckmandanblog.com\/images\/2024\/03\/sims_gray_house_13409-11-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 334px) 100vw, 334px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s still a little bit of brick atop this little alcove, and the blocks which are tucked in safely under the eaves look like they&#8217;ll be there for quite some time. That&#8217;s unfortunate.  It was much taller when it was when it was in pristine condition, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/pdf\/Sims_Gray_House.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.bismarck-mandan.com\/pdf\/Sims_Gray_House.pdf\">photos in this PDF<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I took plenty more photos of this house, which I&#8217;ll include in another post.  It was fantastic to get out; I hadn&#8217;t wielded my cameras since November!  2022 was a miserable year for recreation, as was 2023.
