Go with what you know

For two decades I’ve described my fascination with windmills. When I’ve had a drought in my photography habit, I’ve often found a nice windmill as a slumpbuster. That’s what we have here: one of my favorite windmills southwest of Mandan. It’s a stubby little guy, which means it’s really easy to fit it all in the frame of a horizontally-oriented photo. And it was a pretty fantastic day, as well.

2026 has been the worst year on record, one I can’t wait to scrape off my shoe in a couple of months, and that’s why I’ve only got seventeen photos in my “2026” folder for this blog. I hope to turn that around, however, now that I’ve emerged from calamity intact. As far as I’m concerned, this blog is back in business.
