Can it really get any more gnarly than this? What a fantastic machine. I don’t mean to read like “old man yelling at cloud”, but they really don’t make anything like this anymore. Wowza. And there’s more…

Let’s get right to it: This thing has got the kind of lines a guy could think about when the lights go out and the head hits the pillow for the night. Absolute beauty. There isn’t a single thing about this Malibu that doesn’t ooze perfection.

Yes, I attended Buggies ‘n’ Blues. No, I haven’t posted the photos yet. I’ve been incredibly busy with work, family stuff, and freelance as well. I’m finally getting around to posting my favorites though, and it’s not all trucks this time! Hopefully I kept it about 50-50.

A barn and an old well? That’s all I need for a fine photo. I love the brick chimney on the building, the angle of the handle of the well, the whole works. This was a nice find, and a bit of a surprise, actually. But then again, so many of my photos are the result of a “section line surprise” that it’s almost the norm!

It’s just a cell phone photo, and I think the blog chunked up the quality a bit, but it’s still a decent shot. I was standing on a dirt double-track trail which is technically a county road when I took it, and it’s a great memory.
They say the best camera is the one you have with you. In this case, I also had a drone or two with me, so and maybe even a “real” camera…but I took this shot too, nonetheless.

This was a bonus find – I was in the area doing a farmstead photo thing for someone, and I noticed this beauty perched nearby. Once I’d accomplished my target objective, I flew over to get a closer look.

This one caught just the right light, didn’t it? I love taking pictures of these, and this one was particularly photogenic. It was a spur of the moment trip which brought me here, even though I’d been here before, and the conditions were better than I’d ever encountered at this spot.
I mark all my photo locations in my handheld GPS so I can refer to them later. This spot is a prime example of why I do this. I’ve been here on sunny days before, but there wasn’t anything particularly inspiring about this angle. But in this sunset light, however, it took on a whole new personality. It pays to track these things and come back to a certain spot when the time – and light – is right.

I recently spotted this unfortunate windmill while heading up to Arena to check on the status of St. John’s Church (it’s still there.) and had to stop for a few photos. I don’t remember every finding one in this condition.

They won’t all be sunsets, but I felt it was nice to lead off with a pair of windmills at one of my favorite times of day. I hope it’s yours, too!

It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? I’m trying to get back into the swing of things, and what better way to attempt such a feat than to go with something I know – and, I think, I’m pretty good at: windmill photos. I’ve got a few new/recent ones, so let’s have at it. One day at a time.
